On Monday, October 11, Punjab Finance Department issued funds for the development projects in Punjab worth PKR 221 Billion that had been scheduled for the first quarter of the fiscal year (FY-2021-22). In the first quarter of the last fiscal year, funds were released at a much higher rate of up to PKR 86 billion.
Usman Buzdar said that they have released funds for the next year’s development projects and directives have been given to expedite work on the projects.
The chief minister said that examination of the projects would be carried out through directorate general monitoring and third-party audits.
Addressing the provincial assembly, Hashim Jawan Bakht presented the budget with a total outlay of PKR 2653 billion.
He announced that the PTI government, despite all difficulties, is raising the development budget by 86 percent to PKR 560 billion.
