The Director General (DG), Ahmad Aziz Tarar, of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has proposed the idea of two road infrastructure development projects on Walton Road for the approval of Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar.
The news sources have reported that the construction of a dual road underpass would be built on Khalid Butt Chowk while a single two-lane flyover will be built from Ghora Chowk to Walton Road, according to the proposal of Director General of LDA. The Walton Road would be made into a signal-free corridor for the smooth flow of traffic.
The total money that is required for the construction of dual lane and two way underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk and the other at Ghora Chowk is PKR 2.8 Billion.
The Defence Mor and Walton road will be renovated. The project is expected to be completed within 10 months. The current fiscal year budget has been requested by LDA. The project of protected U-turns was scrapped by LDA.
